Pension Fund Regulators in Nigeria

In Nigeria, the Pension Fund Regulators are the bodies responsible for overseeing the administration of pension funds in the country. The main regulator is the National Pension Commission (PenCom), which was established by the Pension Reform Act 2004. PenCom is responsible for licensing and regulating pension fund operators, such as pension fund administrators (PFAs) and pension fund custodians (PFCs). • The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM): The NAICOM is responsible for regulating the insurance industry in Nigeria. This includes ensuring that PFAs and PFCs comply with the relevant insurance laws and regulations.
